Logos Hope Trip Information meeting

Who: Northbrook attenders ages 19–30

When: January 6 – 14, 2020

Where: Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago

Information Meeting: Sunday, September 8, 9:30 – 10:30 AM, Room C306 at Northbrook

This is an exciting opportunity for Northbrook young adults to experience God and minister aboard a missionary ship! Our team will spend a week serving on the Logos Hope, which will be stationed in Port of Spain on the island of Trinidad in the Caribbean. Team members will serve alongside the ship’s 400 staff members, offering hard work, support and encouragement, as well as demonstrating the love of Christ to local citizens that will board the ship. The gangways are opened to hundreds—sometimes thousands—of visitors each day.  While on board, visitors shop in the "world’s largest floating bookstore” where they can find Christian materials that may not otherwise be available to them. Visitors also learn of God’s redemptive plan of salvation and hope. Northbrook team members will have daily assignments, including ship tasks and on shore ministering in the community. This is truly a cross-cultural opportunity, with over 60 nations represented among the ship staff.   Come to the information meeting to learn more!

el salvador sponsor trip

Information meeting: Sunday September 15, 9:30 – 10:30 AM, Room C306

You’ve seen the pictures. You’ve written the letters. But now, you’re thinking about something more. Northbrook is planning its next Sponsor Trip to El Salvador in July of 2020. This 7-day trip will allow you to step into your child’s world. You will explore your child’s home country, eat the food she eats, play the games he plays. And to top it all off, you can give your sponsored child a hug and deliver that next letter in person!  Additionally, you’ll learn more about the ministry of Compassion in El Salvador and how it works directly with the local church.

Applicants must be at least 15 years old (ages 15-17 must travel with a parent). The application process is open to Northbrook families sponsoring a child through Compassion International in El Salvador.  Not yet sponsoring a child, but would like to? Visit compassion.com/northbrookchurch to see children in El Salvador waiting to start a sponsorship relationship.
